I attended Impact University for four years and finished with a Bachelors in Christian Counseling, and my experience there was awesome.  Before I signed up, I talked to Pastor Barr, the Dean of the school, and he said that there were three main reasons that people attended. One, they either know that they are called to ministry. Two, think that they might be called to ministry or three, they just want a better understanding of the Word of God.  For me, I knew I wanted a better understanding of the Word and thought that I might be called to ministry.  From the time I went through the first class I knew that it was God's will for me to be there and I was about to start an amazing journey.  I learned so much about character, faith, grace, evangelism, purpose, etc.  The truths that I discovered at Impact have forever changed my life.  The thing is, "God has blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ Jesus", Ephesians 1:3.  "He has given us all things that pertain to life and Godliness through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue", 2 Peter 1:3  Since God has already blessed us and has already given us everything we need to fulfill His plan for our lives,  we do not have to do religious things to try to get God to move because He has already moved.  We now must simply discover who we are in Him and how to access what is already ours.  It's like if you have a check that is deposited in the bank, it belongs to you but you still need a debit card and a pin number to withdraw the cash.  We learn how to draw out what God has deposited in us and for us through the knowledge of Him as we just saw in 2 Peter 1:3.  At Impact, as you study the Word, read the materials, get revelation from the teachers and apply what you learn, you will know how to make withdrawals from your heavenly account.

Putting the truth that we hear into practice is vital.  Joshua 1:8 says that we should meditate on the Word of God day and night that we may observe to do all that is written therein, for then we shall make our way prosperous and have good success.  So we read, hear, meditate and study the Word so that we can do the Word.  One of the major benefits of Impact is that the Word is taught with application.  For example, when I took a class on Evangelism the instructor gave us a homework assignment to witness to at least one stranger at a restaurant, store, etc using strategies that we learned in class.  My family and I went out to eat lunch at Ruby Tuesday's after church one day and after witnessing to our waitress, she accepted Jesus and it was so easy.  Glory to God!  I have been able to witness to, pray for and lead many people to the Lord since then.

Not too long ago, I was praying and I heard God say "I want you to learn how the Kingdom of God operates and teach it to others."  Since then I was going through a box of books that I had in my closet and found a workbook that I had from Impact probably five years ago on a class about purpose.  There was a section in the front of the book where we were to write down the first thing that came to mind when asked to write our purpose.  I did not remember what I wrote but when I read it, it said " to lead people out of captivity, to help them be free from bondages: financial, physical and emotional.  To mentor people in how to live and operate in the Kingdom of God." I am now serving in the counseling ministry at Agape and seeing lives changed.  Not only through counseling but also in the marketplace.  God has been and will forever be good.
